Practice · Office of the CFO

Finance that closes itself. Controls included.

The CFO office is where the economics of autonomy are sharpest: high volume, rule-dense, deadline-driven, and audited. We move the function from people running processes to agents running processes — with people on judgment, exceptions, and the controls. That end state is Lights-Out Finance.

The stack, applied

The same five layers, focused on the CFO office.

From finance data through agents that run the function to the controls auditors accept.

Governed finance data, sub-ledgers, and policy/knowledge stores that make the close and reporting trustworthy.

The trustworthy substrate.

Forecasting, anomaly detection, and risk scoring through foundation and generative models for reporting and analytics.

Better decisions and content.

Agents that run close, reconciliation, reporting, and forecast end to end, routing only exceptions to people.

The engine of Lights-Out Finance.

Embedded into ERP, treasury, and close platforms and run reliably in production.

Ships and stays up.

SOX-aligned controls, attestation, and explainability across every layer — audit-ready by design.

Speed without losing control.

Questions CFOs ask

Straight answers, before the briefing.

What is Lights-Out Finance?

Lights-Out Finance is a finance function that runs its core processes — reconciliation, close, reporting, forecasting — end to end without manual intervention, routing only exceptions to people. The team moves from executing processes to governing them: owning judgment, exceptions, and the control framework.

How is this different from RPA or finance copilots?

RPA replays clicks and copilots assist individual tasks; both leave people running the process. Agentic AI runs multi-step processes end to end under defined guardrails — planning, deciding, and acting across systems. That is the jump from task automation to autonomy, and it is where the cost structure of the function actually changes.

Will auditors and regulators accept agent-run finance processes?

Yes — if explainability, logging, and attestation are designed in from the start. Every agent decision carries its rationale and evidence, controls are tested against the full transaction population rather than samples, and the audit trail is produced as a by-product of the process. Retrofitting these is the expensive mistake; we build them into the architecture on day one.

Where should a CFO start?

With the process where the economics are sharpest and the rules are clearest: reconciliation and accounts payable are the proven entry points, already demonstrated at touchless rates above ninety percent at global scale. Our readiness diagnostic identifies the binding constraint across the five layers — it is rarely the model.

One integrated offering · The agents that run it

Run by agents. Engineered with you.

The operating model and the agents are one deployment, not two. The same team that designs your Target Operating Model puts these agents on the runbook, operate them with you through the autonomy ramp, and transfer ownership when the function runs itself — outcome-priced, with every action on the Evidence Ledger. Built to leave.
